Celebrating a day of productivity

I had seven things on my whiteboard as my to-do list for today.

I dealt with all of them. This doesn’t mean they’re all actually DONE – I have to wait to hear back from people on some of them – but action was taken on each item and I moved forward.

I can’t tell you how good this feels. I think that planning my to-do list the night before is a good way to go, at least for a little while. When I come to the office in the morning it’s too easy to get sidetracked by the morning flood of emails and all the other distractions.

HAPPENIN?

Not too much. This week is pre-regatta madness… this’ll be happening oh about 9 more times this year. Workout on Tuesday, a “quiet” evening on Wednesday when I try to make copious amounts of chocolate chip cookies (although between you & me & that Internet fencepost, Reality TV is looking good tonight)… Thursday night is boat loading, and Friday we’re off to Seattle.

I get up at oh-fucking-dark hundred to be at the coaches meeting at 6 am on Saturday, I coordinate 41 “grownups” to prepare their boats and settle petty squabbles over blades, and then at 7:30 I race. I may nap briefly before racing again at 11:30, then I stand around in the rain until 5:30 when we load all the boats up again to come back to Seattle.

I’ll be done around 11 pm, I figure, at which time I’ll come home and collapse into bed and thank murphy that the next one isn’t until June.

Yeah. That’s what’s happening.

And DAMN the fools at ANTM for having a repeat last night. Dangit, I needed some brain pap.

IT’S GIVEAWAY TIME

This weekend I am going to donate a bunch of work clothing and books to charity. There are a handful of work suits/pants/skirts for size 12-16, and a whole wack of books.

If you should wish to see what’s there and maybe pick yourself up a few items, let me know. Anything still in my bedroom by Friday night is getting loaded in the car and taken to charity on Saturday afternoon.

TWO THINGS

A) Our computer makes a noise like a really bad old lawnmower. Is it time to replace it, d’yathink?

B) I am wearing shorts and a summer tank-top and we are BBQing steak and prawns tonight. Hurray!
